The Men I.Q. Network is a growing community dedicated to strategizing and
executing solutions for some of the most overlooked epidemics plaguing Black America: fatherless homes, broken families and the destruction of the Black Male.
We launched our programming in June 2021 with a public panel entitled "Real Discussions with Men of High Integrity & Quality". Our Men I.Q. Discussion Series is a program dedicated to cultivating socially aware & emotionally intelligent men of our generation. We are committed to challenging the stereotype and stigmas that have been associated with Black Men in our time. Our overall goal is to create opportunities for self reflection, healing and personal growth in a community of Black men that practice transparency & accountability.
The work that we are doing builds upon the foundation of work established by Kevin Powell- The Black Male Handbook, Na'Im Akbar - Visions for Black Men, and Carter G. Woodson, The Miseducation of of the Negro. The men of our network also cite the following leaders as influences: Mulana Karenga, Jawanza Kunjufu, Herbert Harris, Dead Prez, Malcolm X, John Henrik Clarke, Haile Sellassie, Marcus Garvey, Paul Hill, Clarence 13X, Toni Morrison, Alice Walker, Maya Angelou, Octavia Butler, Bell Hooks, James Baldwin, Kwame Nkrumah, Ta-Neishi Coates, Jason Wilson, Chancellor Williams, and Dr. Ben amongst others...
